Our Produce

If you would like any produce, please request a copy of our weekly newsletter by using the following link; produce@spylaw.org.uk . The newsletter includes availability and pricing for all our products, including meat. Produce can be collected anytime, just ring to arrange.

We strive for self-sufficiency at Spylaw and have a wide variety of home grown vegetables, herbs and fruits. Why not come with us and pick your very own really fresh produce for your holiday meals.

Bread & Cakes

We bake bread and cakes to order and can deliver to your door for breakfast, warm from the oven. Mmmmmm!

Livestock

Our own poultry & livestock roam freely at Spylaw, Chillingham and Felton. The Middle White pigs happily eat roots and grass in the woods at the walled garden at Chillingham.  Please ask if you'd like to visit them.

Our new Tamworths are down at the Northumbrian Community at Felton, where they are free to graze in the fields at the Community. Pete looks after them for us.

You can buy eggs from our happy hens. They live in the orchard and enjoy lazing in the sun and numerous dust baths. The turkeys and geese are free range, hatch their own chicks in the late Spring, and can be found wandering anywhere! 

Honey

Our honey comes from the existing three hives although Andy has just increased this with another swarm from Chillingham Castle. We follow the blossom all year round, and take the bees to the current crop. In the Spring they live near Budle Bay and collect from the flowers in the walled garden there. In late Spring they harvest from the Lime trees locally. Summer is following the crops and field beans which produces a wonderful clear, fragrant honey.In the early Autum when the heather blossoms Fowberry moor is where they'll be, producing rich dark, aromatic honey for winter.

Much of our home grown produce is used to make Spylaw preserves - We have a wide variety of jams and pickles to compliment our other produce. Available for hampers too!
